Analgesia and sedation.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
CNS depression or coma. History of drug abuse or alcoholism. Head injury, intracranial lesions and elevated intracranial pressure. Hepatic or renal impairment. Obese. Prostatic hyperplasia. Toxic psychoses. COPD or other obstructive airway disease. Supraventricular tachycardia. Thyroid dysfunction. Elderly and debilitated patients. Pregnancy, lactation and children.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Hypovolaemia, CV disease, adrenal insufficiency, billary tract disorders.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Drug dependence. Sedation, mental clouding, lethargy, vomiting, constipation. Respiratory depression blurring of vision.
