Schizophrenia, affective withdrawal and social maladjustment.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Marked liver impairment. Preexisting CNS depression or coma.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Pregnancy, lactation, elderly and children. Epilepsy, cardiac conduction problems, hypokalaemia, hypomagnesemia, hypothyroidism.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Blood dyscrasias, dry mouth, blurring of vision, retention of urine, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, weight gain, allergic skin rash, cholestatic jaundice, orthostatic hypotension, granular deposits in cornea, lens. Impaired glucose tolerance. Extrapyramidal effects. Bronchospasm, increased risk of breast cancer. Threatening arrhythmias.
