Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?
Nasal congestion. Conjunctival decongestant.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Glaucoma. Hyperthyroidism, heart disease (including angina), hypertension, advanced arteriosclerotic. Pregnancy, lactation and children below the age of six years.Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Prolong use to be avoided as atrophic rhinitis and anosmia can occur due to persistant vasoconstriction. Hypertensives. CNS depression. Difficulty in urination secondary to prostate enlargement, DM.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
Stinging sensation, sneezing, dryness of mouth and throat, rebound congestion, mild burning.
