Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Unstable, angina, coronary vasospasm, LVF accompanying MI, hypertension during cardiac surgery.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Cerebral haemorrhage, head trauma, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Cerebrovascular disease, lung disease.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Throbbing, headache, flushing, weakness, sweating, palpitation, dizziness and fainting. Tachycardia. Methaemoglobinaemia.
