Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?
Metastatic carcinoma of the colon or rectum, cancer lung, cervix, ovary.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Hypersensitivity. Inflammatory bowel diseases, bowel obstruction, severe hepatic impairment. Pregnancy and lactation.Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Previous pelvic/abdominal irradiation, elderly. Raised plasma-bilirubin concentration, severe myelosuppression.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
Abdominal discomfort, vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea. Leukopenia, neutropenia, anaemia, haemorrhage. Body pain, asthenia, insomnia, dizziness, thrombocytopenia, lachrymation, miosis, CV toxicity.
