Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Mild to moderate hypertension.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Hypersensitivity. Angioedema, severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 10ml/min) and patients on hemodylasis. Aortic stenosis or outflow tract obstruction, renovascular disease, ascites. Pregnancy and lactation.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Renal impairment, hepatic impairment. Peripheral vascular diseases, generalised atherosclerosis, idiopathic or hereditary. Elderly.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Persistent dry cough, tachycardia, headache, nausea, dizziness, GI and taste disturbances. Dizziness, headache, fatigue, skin rash, angioedema, photosensitivity, renal impairment, hyperkalemia, hyponatraemia, proteinuria, cholestatic, jaundice, alopecia, muscle cramps, paraesthesias, impotence.
