Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?
Metastatic testicular and ovarian carcinoma, advanced bladder, head and neck cancer.
Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?
Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Hypersensitivity. Renal impairment. Pregnancy, lactation and children. The risk of hearing loss is increased.Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication
Maintain good hydration. Shock like state sometimes occurs during IV infusion. Monitor haemotological, neurological status and renal functions. Hypomagnesaemia. Hypocalcaemia. Hyperuricaemia.
What are possible side effects of this medication ?
Nausea, vomiting, tinnitus, deafness, neuropathy, nephrotoxicity, electrolyte imbalance.
