Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Hypertension. Anxiety.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Arrythmias. Uncontrolled heart failure, allergic rhinitis, bronchospasm or asthma, sick sinus syndrome.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Compensated heart failure. DM, severe hepatic impairment, myasthenia gravis, PVD untreated phaeochromocytoma, history of psychiatric illness.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Pulmonary oedema, postural hypotension, prolonged PR interval, sinus arrest, palpitation, chest pain, peripheral vascular disorders, hot flashes, syncope, vertigo, ligtheadedness, headache, dizziness, anxiety, depression, nervousness, irritability, hallucinations, sleep disturbances, sedation, slurred speech, dry skin, rash, pruritus, decreased libido, impotence, weight gain, hypoglycaemia, GI disturbances. Keratoconjunctivitis, dry and itching eyes, blurred vision.
