Psychotic and neurotic depression. Obsessive compulsive neurosis and phobic states.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Pregnancy and lactation. Severe hepatic impairment. Cardiovascular disease, hypomania or mania. Porphyria.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Ischaemic heart disease. Elderly, diabetes, renal or hepatic impairment. Drive or operate heavy machinery. Epilepsy, prostatic hyperplasia, diabetes mellitus.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Drowsiness, impaired alertness. Blood dyscrasias, jaundice and fits may be precipitated, specially in children. Rashes. Gynaecomastia, hypomania, oedema, tachycardia, vomiting, dizziness and ataxia. Bone marrow suppression.
