Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomonas vaginitis, anaerobic infections, ulcerative gingivitis. Eradication of H.pylori associated with peptic ulcer disease. Antibiotic-associated coulitis. Trichomoniasis, Balantidiasis, Blastocyatis hominis infection. Adjunct to treatment of chronic periodontal infections. Rosacea.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy and lactation.

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Patients with CNS diseases. History of seizure disorder. Evidence or a history of blood dyscrasias. Severe hepatic impairment.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Anorexia, nausea, metallic taste, abdominal cramps, headache, glossitis, dryness of mouth, dizziness, peripheral neuropathy. Hypersensitivity reactions.
