Indication : Why is this medication prescribed?

Supraventricular, tachycardia, perioperative tachycardia and hypertension.

Contraindication: What are the special precautions to be followed?

Under following conditions, use of this medication is inadvisable. Its use should be withhold as it would cause harm to the patient
Sinus, bradycardia, heat block, cardiogenic shock or overt heart failure. Concomitant IV calcium channel blockers. Pregnancy (2nd and 3rd trimester).

Other Precaution to be observed while taking this medication

Hypotension, tachycardia, PVD, uncompensated heart failure, haemodynamically compromised patients, depressed cardiac contractility, DM, bronchospastic disease, renal impairment. Lactation and children.

What are possible side effects of this medication ?

Hypotension, dizziness, headache, confusion, fatigue, paresthesia, asthenia, depression, anxiety, anorexia, bronchospasm. Bradycardia, heart failure,diaphoresis, peripheral ischaemia, dizziness, somnolence, fatique, paraesthesia, peripheral neuropathy, headache, weakness, irritability, dyspnoea, urinary retention, fever, rigor, muscular pain. Profound bradycardia, AV block, cardiogenic shock, asystole, bronchospasm.
